So, I have edited this across from the ever-bickering board for a more considered discussion, it had to happen one day, but I think I have an actual idea! It isn't very well ordered or articulated, but I trust this congregation to get what I mean.
I started lamenting that RL doesn't have a really good Fifa or PES equivalent Xbox/Playstation RL game and that where kids attention is grabbed is with clubs really upping their TikTok and similar game..... I use none of the technologies BTW, but know that is where the eyes and therefore dollars are.
Then I started thinking about the professional E-Sports arms that Prem football sides have these days, with loads of high profile players also playing.
Which led me to think about Cas running some "league" for Xbox Live type players based around the club for a particular online game, you could credibly build a bridge there between e-sports and on-field attraction, as in convert gaming interest to foot-fall, or vice versa.
They can have that idea of a CTRLFC e-sports league for free. I know a lot of the lads play, could have a monthly winner there on a game day, a prize and perhaps and end of season, inter club thing. One of the squad lads plays one night a week. Kids watch hours of videos streamed of other people playing, I genuinely think this has legs.
Somone down on the pitch that months league leader, inter-club, end of season play-offs.......... All sorts and we could genuinely be early adopters of something that would cost a fist full of sod all to set up and half the kids in Yorkshire play XBox or Playstation.
