A new start

First off welcome!

The idea to launch Casfans was for a few reasons. The first was simply to have a new modern platform for users, going forward it'll allow us to take advantage of upcoming features for phones (notifications etc) and also help keep discussions more civilised! The other was to build to a larger brand under the newly formed "TeamRL Network" which launched a few weeks back.

There's a few things to complete in the short term - mainly around adding additional styling to make it feel a little more "Cas like" and a few bits of functionality but for the most part it's all here ready to use.

If you have any issues or questions feel free to add them to this thread!

@Matt is there a flight plan to target users to bring across?
I only ask because while it is refreshing the lack of testicles being talked, there are only a few of us here right now?

I just managed to find you via a determined Google search.
Wonderful! I felt totally lost being unable to access the old site as I live far from Cas. I really appreciated your old site and thanks so much for creating this one. Fingers crossed nobody will derail it!

Hi Matt.
Still not good at navigating the forum.
I keep getting a massage bottom left saying I don’t have permission.
Permission for what.
It makes it unable to post.
Also I’m constantly having to put my user name and password in every time I come on the site.
Any advice.

The permissions thing is probably to do with the fact that you were logged out. Have you made sure the remember me box is checked?

As far as I know I’m logged in.
But will check next time it happens.

Finally made it over but I was trying various searches on Google, all to no avail. If it's a tactic, it works.

Hopefully we can keep this site more friendly and less aggressive between users. Just need to learn how best to navigate.

By default all discussions are shown however you can use the site in a more traditional manner and only show posts within their respective categories by using the tag view.

Matt, is there somewhere on this site where i can tick "notify me" when someone has put a new post on a thread i have contributed to, equally is there an option to then stop following that thread. apologies if its just me that cant find it in "my profile"

Hi Shameless, i didnt get the pm so not sure what you were trying to tell me but thanks in anticipation.

But it would appear that if you try to direct people on the old site to this one your message will not get sent, same as any post referring to this site are removed, so any of the members from the old site are unable or struggling to find this one. what i dont understand is why they who run the old site wish to be totally anonymous? But a big thanks to Matt for setting this one up.👍

yorky Okay mate. It was just a link to this site, as you say they are clearly being very proactive in deleting any posts or PMs that do that. Bit of a sad way to go about things I would suggest.

The balance on the old site went wrong.
I like a healthy disagreement, my opinion is equal to that of anyone else whether we agree or not. But it got very petty, correcting spellings and being personal, which was just plain boring.

Let's face it, unless you either are one of our squad, or Lee Radford, we are all giving an arm-chair opinion from varying degrees of experience and distance.
No idea why people take it so personally or seriously!
