I may be te only RL follower on the planet that believes the Mike Cooper yellow was correct, and that a ban should’ve followed.
I am aware the directives for interpretation of the rules has changed since the Watts/Dupree incident but still look at the ‘rules’ that saw Watts get a red and 4 games.
The emphsis was, and I belive still is, for te defender to be prepared to safely accommodate/anticpate the ball carrier falling as you attempt to make a tackle. Coming in with a swinging arm (Cooper) does not follow this directive and is therefore, a penalty.
