Hardly surprising,the board clearly saw the Huddersfield performance as we did,and him
publicly lambasting players after the game and then his comments about the club environment he made while on TV on Sunday he’s pretty much shown himself the door.

The correct choice by the club. After the result at the weekend it was clear that it isn’t working and the comments from McGuire haven’t been inspiring either.

Paul Rowley would be my choice - get him out of his contract at Salford and start rebuilding for next season.

Absolutely the correct call this, he was never the right man for the job. Although i did expect him to get more time i’m glad Jepson has acted now.

Jason Demetriou would be a great shout, knows the area and all about super league plus has NRL experience. Ryan Carr is another who knows the area and is highly rated.

McNamara would also fit the bill, he has bags of experience home and abroad.

Rowley might fancy getting out of the Salford mess and has got his teams to over-achieve for years. Ian Watson’s best work at Salford also came with Rowley in the director of football role there.

An outside bet might be Tony Smith. A ton of experience again and he was the one who laid all the groundwork for Hull KR’s current success.

I think we are due an aussie with a knowledge of the game over there. We are going to 10 non fed players and it’s going to be important.

As a second choice Rowley for me certainly. He’s been the only calm man at Salford and has held himself well. If rumours were right he didn’t go to Leeds with blease because he wanted to stay local. It would take a great talk from Mr Jepson to bring him in.

Talking of Mr Jepson, it’s been a while. We are needing an update on the ground, investors, playing and non playing staff changes and maybe where the club is going.

He’s paid some money out with players and now a coach going so we know he’s still the man at the helm.

Be an interesting spread bet on how many coaches we are linked with before an appointment is made Carr,McNamara,Watson, Rowley and Morgan to name but five and it’s only day 1. Could hit double figures by the weekend. 😳

I hope that this is the start of something good at the club. We’ve fallen so far since Powell left and we’re back to being Cas of old. I’ve watched some poor performances over the years but the game against Huddersfield was something else and I hope the players take on what Chester said too.

Off field we seem to be going in the right direction - fingers crossed we’re able to convert that in to some success in the years coming up.

Yup,all sounds fairly positive just hope they release a few updates along the way,there have been some uncomfortable silences along the way which have done little to allay the fears of the fans. Great we’ve had so much interest in the coaching job,maybe we’re not as unattractive a proposition as many thought,and I love the qualities they’re looking for in a new coach,it’s what we desperately need. Apart from the already rumoured incomings it seems we have a couple of others who’ve flown somewhat under the radar,all good stuff,watch this space. 👍

Hepworth yes we know of rumours with Lane and Ashworth (Hull) & Atoni (Wakey).

He says 6/7 so far and more as the non-fed has gone up by 3. I’d say we need all 10.

It’s a good listen and he sounds a pretty genuine type of guy.

Hope we go for a aussie coach with big knowledge and contacts. Not bothered if they are young or old.

I would hope that the bod is a little more settled now, that we’d start to up our game with new website, ground updates etc…

Mr Jepson is very big into the 100 year anniversary next year. I think it’ll be a much better year to be a Cas fan. I would imagine moored updates now he’s not trying to do most of it on his own.

As the first port of call for many people the website needs to be spot on. Yes you can have a presence on social media but that’s your shop window and ours is awful,it’s out of date,difficult to navigate and an embarrassment to a professional organisation. If that’s the first impression you got of Castleford Tigers it’s a desperately poor one. What baffles me is it’s such an easy and relatively cheap fix,and I’d wager the websites of the companies run by the members of our new Board are a dam site better.

I’ve been in touch over many years with various offers and never got very far. Might throw my hat in again and see if they’d be interested.
