Talking to an old fella yesterday in the alma Scarborough and he said he was the one who nicked Eddie Warings sheepskin coat all those years ago. I thought it was an urban myth but he named the match (floodlit trophy) and said that was the reason that Eddie hated Castleford.
BTW he is in his 90s and appears to have all his marbles

Did he still have the coat.
Could be worth a few pennies.
Especially if it can be proved it is the ‘coat’ DNA maybe.

The story I’d heard was that Eddie had parked his beloved motor at the back of the Princess Street when he came to do a Challenge cup commentary. It was rumoured that a few Cas fans had used Eddies car to hop over the wall and into the ground and damaged his roof. No idea as to the truth of the story but always liked it.
