I was there and we still have no idea how to attack. It seems like very one dimensional play and I hoped we’d be better after a few games but we’re not. And please could they stop kicking high balls to end a set if we aren’t going to challenge for it.
I was amazed by the reffing, it truly was awful, missing forward passes, knockons and so many illegal shots. Feldt hit maps twice with shoulders and tackled Cini in the air, this all before he sinbinned him for the late high shoulder charge. The guy is getting away with almost everything. The worse thing is that he won’t be pulled on it as for some reason, like Milne and the high shot on maps in the Huddersfield match. If it’s not reported, they don’t look.
The reffing wasn’t the reason for the loss but it contributed highly towards it. I haven’t seen a match where I feared for the players safety in such a long time. The ref was out of control. To lose 4 men to HIAs shows something is wrong.
I’m not convinced by Cini at fullback or Asi at 6.
The forwards are doing their job but we are getting no ends product from the backs. They just aren’t getting the ball with any space.
I hope we can bring in better players and keep progressing unfortunately we got false hope against Huddersfield. How bad must they truly be.
