Aussie Takeover

I see that Matt Ellis at Wakefield has stirred the pot a little.
According to him the clubs haven’t been told what the NRL are demanding in regards to this takeover.
Rumours vary from an 8 or 10 team Super league, forced club mergers and the end of second tier professional RL (no championship)
This sounds to me like the death of Rugby League as we know it in the UK.
As fans on the game we have a right and need to know what the proposals are and why is fat Nigel not telling the club owners what is on the table?
It is obvious to me that Wood is in this for himself, he has history.
Why should owners pump cash into their clubs if the don’t even know if those clubs will exist after fat Nigel signs the game into history’s dustbin?
Things are looking bleak for all but the usual suspects , maybe it really is time for another breakaway league without the Wigans and Leeds type of favoured clubs

If the RL think an NRL takeover will be the saviour of the game they’re delusional,it would mean the death of many grass roots clubs who are the foundation of so many communities. I would wholeheartedly agree with a breakaway league to ensure that the game survives below the top table. I would far rather support an independent Castleford side at a lower level rather than some concocted soulless conglomeration in Super League. The Rugby Union premiership and all their associated financial issues should serve as a warning to those in favour of this move.

if this happens it will be the end of cas tigers, the nrl will take our franchise off us & sell it to a big city club, which works in Australia as its their national game, but it wont work in the uk, its been tried & it doesn’t work. look how long the magic weekend has been in Newcastle & still very little interest in the game, we then take it to the hill Dickenson stadium & its practically sold out already. also if it moves back to ten teams it will be boring, if it isn’t cas im not interested, the only plus i can se is super league without cas means i can cancel sky sports & get rid of that terrible platform.
