While we all pretended to hate him i am sure there was some grudging admiration in the way he played the game. When Cas werent involved i loved to watch him play, when he was ripping Cas apart i hated the little scumbag.

I agree he will be a loss to the game. He is one of very few current players who general (non RL) sports fans might know and there aren’t many of those. James Roby maybe, mainly because of longegivity and it’s always been him in recent times lifting the trophies but he is going as well. We lack personalities and we never make the most of the ones we have. Fifita was one, LMS another, even Mamo to some degree but they have all departed the game now. It’s all very much of a muchness.

On the pitch I couldn’t stand him, a bit like McGuire at Leeds. He always tore us to shreds and managed to rabbit away at refs and seemingly get away with it on most occasions. That said he was a great player and he’ll be a loss to the game, just glad he won’t be scoring tries against us anymore.

He was outstanding but certainly the on field stuff was bad. He should have regular bans for going in with his legs as the opposition scores.

Still a good servant, who I would have liked down the lane.

I reckon he’d have got sent off regularly if he’d played for Cas, either for dissent or fouling a scoring player.
