Same old story - loads of pressure in the first ½, but no one with any attacking flair or skill to make a break. We should have scored 3 or 4 tries with the amount of pressure we had.

I think most of the team have given up. Not exactly putting themselves in the shop window though. Can’t see who would want half of the squad - maybe which ever championship teams are promoted at a push.

Yet again I turned off after 50 mins. If there’s no interest on the pitch from them why should fans stick by them.

Didn’t have the guile in the first half to break down the defence when we had plenty of opportunities. Losing Horne and Windley after a shocker of a tackle didn’t help,nor did conceding just before half time which has become a bad habit of ours. Second half we looked shot,heat,lack of fitness,call it what you will. It’s clear even when there’s effort there’s a lack of quality in many areas. Looks like we’re having a wholesale clear out which is much needed. We need quality and creativity and a different culture at the club,hopefully Carr can instil that in the new recruits. I’m sure it won’t be as easy as that,tonight’s opponents are on there third transition and have spent fortunes only to end up with Luke Keary whose only real contribution to Catalans has been shooting his mouth off and draining their bank balance.

Re: that tackle on Windley.
Absolutely diabolical, where’s the duty of care from the Catalan player.
Where’s the penalty from the ref.
Windley was concussed and failed his HIA.
I hope the discaplinary panel look at it, cos in my eye that was violet conduct.

thats exactly my thoughts too, Windley should be in the academy / under 16’s until he puts a couple of stone on or he will end up crippled! as for the rest of the team, a better effort but no halfs with any idea & missing touch with a penalty, what a shambles again.

yorky the pull back on Atkin on their line should have been a Cas penalty, even the usually biased commentators said do, we get that pen they dont score before half time.
I know we dont have the quality but it must be draining to have to play through these sort of decisions week after week.
Hornes “no try” in the first half WTF was that all about?

Apparently the tackle was complete, then he lost the ball.
Think that rule was just made up on the spur of the moment by the video ref.
I’d like to see where it is in the rule book.

It was 100% a ‘no try’. The ball carrying arm hit the floor with a cas player on top so the tackle was complete. The ref even called the tackle complete - I was surprised he even went to the video ref. Once the tackle is complete the ball’s not back in play until the PTB.

Watching the Keary no try at the end of the first half summed up that video ref perfectly,Stevie Wonder would have seen that drop,Kearys reaction said he’d dropped it,onfield the ref said he’d dropped it,seven times he watched the replay from different angles everyone showing he’d dropped it,a cynic might say he’d have given the try if he could have got away with it.

I’m sure in the first half there was a cannon ball tackle that wasn’t picked up by the ref too.

Watched it back and I agree but if the balls not back in play until the ptb, how do they call knock on if the ball is fumbled before the ptb?
which happens quite often.

It’s still an infringement, it’s just the only option can be a scrum, never play on

If the ball goes into touch and is deemed out of play, then the player drops it before the PTB then they are also guilty of knocking on arent they?

No because the game’s stopped after the ball goes into touch and the referee blows his whistle. After a tackle the game is still live, but the ball isn’t back in play until the PTB.

From the laws of the game:

Losing possession 8. A tackled player shall not intentionally part with the ball other than by bringing it back into play in the prescribed manner. If, after being tackled, they accidentally lose possession, a scrum shall be formed
