pirate Be a great start,given his current salary and needing to remain within the salary cap I’d assume he’d be a marquis player. Mat Croker would probably fall into the same category,there were rumours about him last season but he signed a one year extension to stay in the NRL. Be a real statement of intent if we could even get one of them. But if we’re going to go down the Marquis route we desperately need a half back.

It`s a start, just need another 10 or 12 high quality players to join him. At the moment, assuming Amone goes, we have about 6 maximum who are SL standard, Hoy, Rooney, Senior, Quarequare, Lawler & Mellor. The rest would struggle to get into any of the Championship teams.. Two centres, 2 half-backs, and 6 forwards are the minimum we need.

Can’t see any way we’ll be getting 10 players in for next season even though we probably need that many. All of Stueys list have contracts for next season with the exception of Lawler so that’s a decent start. George is one of seven out of contract at the end of the season but the only one I’d want to see renewed, Simms maybe as a squad player. Westy been a great servant but maybe had his time and the rest Milnes included just aren’t good enough. So unless we’re going to pay some off early I’d say six new faces max unless we get some more significant investment. Rooney once fit again is one of the best youngsters out there,Matveyev and Windley are knocking on the door. A couple of Marquis signings would be a dream but that wouldn’t leave much to spend on the rest of the squad. Not all doom and gloom but then you remember who’s in charge of recruitment. 🤷🏼

I’d expect us to bring players in but it’ll take time. The next problem is whose players are they. If they are DMs players then they might not fit should his way of playing not work and he gets the boot. We don’t know if Mr Jepson is a kneejerk reactor or takes advice and takes time to decide. I suppose that’s why Chester is believed to be coming in. Mr Jepson can bring in and get rid of players whenever if he’s prepared to spend the money and we are doing it at the moment to some extent, ala Namo. This is going to take time but it needs the right people to take advice from.

Definitely a new coach. If your up to it McGuire would have least improved the team, which he asnt. We could have the Aussie national team and McGuire would take it backwards. I’ve seen more heart, spirt, motivation and structure down at lock lane. McGuire is out of his depth. He should have started in the championship and work is way up.

Rumour I heard was that he had to put on weight to play for PNG as he wouldn’t get in at hooker. So a backrower/13. Can’t/won’t lose it and the coaching staff aren’t happy. If Mr Jepson is convinced with DM being the man then I can’t fault him for backing him 100%. Powell got the same backing and did well.

Leeds reported interest in Danny Levi should quash the Cain Robb rumours as he’d be their preferred option but with York looking at a back up for Macca that could start a different rumour,and the dispensation for letting him go would add to our cap.They were looking at Horne a while ago but that seems to have gone quiet,meanwhile Connor Wynne who we were interested in at one point appears to be Bradford bound. That apart it’s slim pickings on the rumour front.

Makes sense to leave some space for Carr to utilise once he’s seen the players first hand. Simply watching games won’t give him a feel for the different characters in the squad and how best to utilise them. What I don’t see coming from the club at the moment bearing in mind the IMG grading is media engagement. You get the odd little post thrown out there but we’re light years behind some of the other clubs,someone somewhere needs to be innovative,get a bit creative,get some relatable content out there to keep the fans engaged with the club. The Centenary launch proved we can do it but since then it’s been parochial at best. Can’t say I’m that interested in social media myself but it’s the new way,we have to get on board with it,we have a solid fan base but have to appeal more to the wavererers and the uncommitted . Old gits like me aren’t the future,so we have to appeal to a different audience.

They have a new media staff member but just want a content maker. It’ll all come good in the end. Mr Jepson is aware of it but it takes time to find the right person.

Its all gone quiet again, hope they are not paying a wage to this new media staff, almost every other club is posting stuff everyday, even repeating themselves but we just cant be bothered can we. Its one of the easiest IMG parameters to hit and we seemingly dont give a s**t about it

i feel the club are missing out on some good publicity by not showing progress / work on the new training pitch instalment. i watched the new Everton stadium being built from the ground up & it was fascinating & great publicity for Everton football club & all done by drone videos, we on the other hand do nothing. is there not one person with a camera etc connected with the club that could do daily updates of the new training pitch progress & other ground improvements?

Just seen Will Tate is heading for Wakey,lads been beset with injuries but looked decent when we’ve managed to get him on the field. Surely now we have another centre on the horizon 🤞

Hepworth 15 games in 3 years it was mentioned on the other forum. That’s poor, meaning he was injured or not good enough. We can’t expect better results with the same players.

We are cutting deep and it was needed. I’m sure Chester has a plan and I look forward to it coming together, especially as at pre season is due to start in early November.

Looking at out 1-13 from the start of last season we have only lost 4,Innes Senior,Wood,Milnes and Simbiken,from the 17 add Griffin and Hooley. If you just inserted Valamei,Ravalawa,Greacen and Taaffe into the starting 13 we are already looking stronger,add Atoni and Hood to the bench and you can see the picture clearing a bit with still
more to come.
